Some buildings are run by a single system. In a hotel, an office tower or a mixed-use development, lighting and comfort often have to answer to the building management system (BMS), and that system usually speaks Modbus. Domex Modbus keypads bring real Domex glass to exactly those buildings.
Three ways to connect the same glass
Domex connects to the project in the way the project needs:
- Domex Wireless: whole-home control with Domex controllers and the Domex app, for homes and renovations.
- Cresnet®: the DX-ElectB-CRSNT keypad, native on the Crestron network. Domex Works With Crestron Home OS.
- Modbus: keypads that talk directly to the BMS, for commercial buildings.
The idea is simple: the same Domex glass, speaking the protocol the rest of the building already runs on.

Identical design on every floor
For developers and architects, consistency is the point. The Domex faceplate family stays the same whatever the protocol behind it: Core, Diviso and Sculptured styles, in Black, White, Metallic Gray and Metallic Gold, gloss or matte, with personal engraving and backlit icons. A penthouse on Domex Wireless and a hotel floor on Modbus can share exactly the same wall design.

Modbus is part of the Domex platform: Domex controllers already use their RS-485 port to talk Modbus to third-party equipment such as air-conditioning bridges, and the Domex Modbus keypads join the building’s own Modbus network directly.
